Irish CSO Reports: Milk Statistics January 2014
Domestic milk intake was up 2.2% in January.
Domestic milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers was estimated at 128.3 million litres for January 2014. This was 2.2% above the corresponding 2013 figure. See graph opposite.
Comparing the January 2014 milk produce figures with those for January 2013 shows that:
- Total milk sold for human consumption decreased by 3.9% to 39.2 million litres.
- Butter production was up 10% to 4,400 tonnes.
