Irish CSO: Milk Statistics - June 2013
Domestic milk intake down 0.1% in May
Domestic milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers was estimated at 734.5 million litres for May 2013. This was 0.1% below the corresponding 2012 figure. See graph.
Comparing the May 2013 milk produce figures with those for May 2012 shows that:
- Total milk sold for human consumption decreased by 0.5% to 40.9 million litres.
- Butter production was down 5.2% to 19,900 tonnes.
