Editorial: Industry Asks to be Given a Chance ![]()
We have 4 new features this week: Agriculture and Food Chain Needs Collaborative Approach The meat and livestock industries will need to collaborate along the chain if they are to pull themselves out of the current recession caused by the banking crisis last year, writes TheMeatSite senior editor, Chris Harris. Mexico Poultry and Products Semi Annual Report 2010 Mexico’s 2010 broiler meat production forecast has been revised lower, although this year’s broiler production will not recover to the 2008 level, according to the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service. Brazil Poultry and Products Semi Annual Report 2010 The USDA Foreign ASgricultural Service projects broiler and turkey production and trade to rebound in 2010 in response to projected higher world and domestic demand for both meats. The FAS also revised downward production and exports of broiler and turkey to reflect the impact of the financial world crisis on poultry trade in 2009. Japan - Livestock and Products Semi-Annual Report 2010 Subtitled 2010 Japanese Beef and Pork Market Outlook, this report revises the 2009 livestock annual report, without fundamental changes. The deflationary trend that began last year is not expected to end soon, according to this GAIN report from USDA Foreign Agricultural Service. ![]()
