ANUGA FOODTEC - CFS Gets New Identity under GEA

28 March 2012

GERMANY - Anuga FoodTec in Cologne saw food and drink processing equipment company GEA relaunch its meat processing division under a new name.

The meat processing section of the business, Convenience Food Systems, based in Boxmeer in the Netherlands, had been sold by its venture capitalist owners to GEA over a year ago.

At that time the business was incorporated under the name, GEA Convenience Food Technologies.

At Anuga FoodTec, the company announced that the meat division will now be called GEA Food Solutions.

Stefan de Roo, segment corporate marketing manager for GEA Food Solutions said the change of name was bringing the division in line with the concept of general food production rather than specifically meat and meat products.

Much of the equipment on show still bears the CFS logo, but as Mr de Roo said this is expected to be gradually phased out.

He said that CFS and the companies that made up the meat processing equipment sector had a long-standing and well respected name that many customers still requested.

GEA Food Solutions is one of a number autonomous processing equipment divisions within the GEA group.

The push forward to a new identity for GEA Food Solutions is expected to take place over the coming months.
