IMS World Pork Conference Set for Bonn

20 July 2011

GERMANY - Concerns over the future of cheap energy, supplying the rising demand for pig meat around the world, the effect of biofuels on feed and global consumer requirements will be the focus of the World Pork Conference in Germany in October.

The 6th IMS World Pork Conference from 6-7 October is attracting a range of high level speakers from around the world.

Speakers include representatives of international companies, the European Commission, and international organisations such as the FAO, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), and the world famous market research company Gira.

The conference, organised by German Meat Association and German Meat, also provides plenty of space to network with industry colleagues from all over the world. An excellent accompanying programme complements the business part.

The highlight is a gala dinner on a cruise ship on the Rhine.

The MS Rheinfantasie—the newest and most modern event ship on the Rhine—has been chartered. During the voyage delegates will learn everything about food consumption trends.

The 6th IMS World Pork Conference will conclude with an evening reception in a medieval castle with a magnificent view of the Rhine and grilled suckling pig.

The 6th IMS World Pork Conference takes place in Bonn immediately before the major food fair of ANUGA in neighbouring Cologne.

There are special discounts for conference participants in the event hotel even during ANUGA. More information about the conference can be found on
