WMC REPORT - New President for IMS

ARGENTINA - Arturo Llavallol, the director of the Acción Política de la Sociedad Rural Argentina has been elected president of the International Meat Secretariat.

Mr Llavallol, who succeeds Patrick Moore as the IMS president, was elected to the post during the 18th World Meat Congress in Buenos Aires this week.

Mr Llavallol is also a consultant to the Argentine meat industry promotion organisation, IPCVA, and president of the Interamerican Council for Commerce and Production, CICYP.

While stepping down from the presidency of the IMS, Mr Moore, who is a consultant to Bord Bia in Ireland, will be heading the new IMS committee on sustainability.

The new vice presidents of the IMS are Geert Jansen and former IMS president Phil Seng the CEO of the US Meat Export Federation.
