New Appointments at Bettcher

12 April 2010

BETTCHER Industries Inc.

US - Bill J. Wonderlich has joined Bettcher Industries as Regional Manager.

In this position, Wonderlich will be responsible for sales and service activities for Bettcher’s Whizard Trimmer and AirShirz scissors product lines. He will support meat processing customers in Illinois and Iowa.

Mr Wonderlich has a strong background in the red meat industry. Prior to joining Bettcher Industries, he spent 10 years with the Stork Townsend organisation in several key areas, including serving as a director of supply chain management and later as group manager in charge of service, parts and customer training.

Don Esch, president, of Bettcher: “We’re pleased to welcome Bill to Bettcher Industries. His background and skills across the full spectrum of customer relationships – from systems to parts, service and training – relates to the multi-faceted needs of our meat industry customers today. He will serve our customers in the Midwest region well.”

The company also announced the promotion of Paul Steveson to Regional Manager, handling customers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Steveson has been with Bettcher Industries since 2000. Prior to his promotion, he was Equipment Specialist for the company, responsible for the Whizard® Trimmer and AirShirz® pneumatic scissors product lines in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

“This is a well-deserved promotion for Paul – and a logical step for him based on his solid understanding of our products and how they operate, as well as his ongoing interaction with our customers,” Mr Esch said.

In other news, Bettcher Industries regretfully reports that Morris A. ‘Moe’ Michaelsen passed away on 8 March 2010. Mr Michaelsen, age 55, had been the company’s Regional Manager in the Upper Midwest territory. For more than 25 years until illness forced his retirement in 2009, Michaelsen was the “face” of Bettcher Industries in the region, beloved by co-workers and customers alike.

“Moe was a unique individual who cared deeply for every one of his customers,” said Larry Bettcher, Chairman of Bettcher Industries.

“With Moe, every interaction was important and special, which made him a great representative of our company. He will be greatly missed by many of his colleagues in the industry.”
